In 2005 Philip joined TrainFX Limited where, he and his team have focused on the investment and development of a wide ranging product portfolo for use in the transport sector.
 
Philip Campbell trained as an accountant and has extensive management experience within the transport, service and manufacturing sectors, working in the UK, Europe, the Gulf and the Far East spending over 20 years specifically in the Rail industry.
 
In 1989, following returning to the UK after several years working in Belgium, Philip joined GEC Transportation Projects Ltd (TPL) as accountant for the supply of the Eurostar trains. In 1992 he became assistant group finance director for TPL
 
In 1995 Philip became a founder member of the management team for the newly created GEC ALSTHOM Railway Maintenance Services (RMS) business. RMS was created to capitalise on the privatised UK rail market and with his team he was successful in securing several major contracts in this sector including taking over the maintenance operations of both the London Underground Northern and Jubilee lines. During his time with RMS Philip held a number of senior positions including Materials Director, Commercial Director and Director commercial Services where, working with his in house team of solicitors, barristers and accountants his unit worked on many major rail projects throughout the world

Engineering Director


Richard is a Chartered Engineer with a wide range of experience in systems engineering and engineering management within the rail industry.

Richard started his career working for Alstom Transport as a Systems Engineer in 2000 working on the Train Monitoring System and Seat Reservation Systems for the Virgin Pendolino project.

Richard then went on to work for Bombardier Transportation in 2001 as a Systems Engineer gaining a wide range of experience within systems engineering and systems integration including Automatic Train Control, Train Control and Monitoring System, Doors, PIS, CCTV, Brakes and Traction systems.

Richard also worked heavily on simulation within system engineering working alongside the system design team from the concept stage through to validation.

Before leaving Bombardier Transportation Richard became a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).

After 6 years at Bombardier Transportation Richard went to work for Brush Traction in 2007. There he was involved in the IEP demonstrator in collaboration with Hitachi to prove the feasibility of hybrid traction systems.

Richard also built Brush Traction a fully operational systems integration simulator to test control cubicles in isolation whilst being refurbished.

In 2009 Richard went to work for Sydac Ltd as a Lead Engineer. Using his experience from system engineering at Bombardier and Brush Richard was responsible for the delivery of a number of simulation solutions for training train drivers and other railway staff.

It was within this time with Sydac Richard gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management.

In 2011 Richard went on to become the UK Lead Engineer responsible for all engineering solutions in the UK from the tendering stages through to delivery.

In 2012 Richard became the UK Operations Manager for Sydac having the responsibility for the overall operational success of the UK business whilst still retaining his Lead Engineering responsibilities.

In 2013 Richard joined TrainFX as the Engineering Director responsible for the innovation and successful delivery of advanced rail technology products whilst ensuring the success and quality delivery of existing projects/products.

Andrew Hunt joined the TrainFX board in January 2014.
 
Andrew is an experienced executive who during the early part of his career worked for a number of engineering companies worldwide including GKN, Vickers and PACSCOM (Now part of Ultra Electronics). For the last ten years he has worked with investors to identify and invest in high growth SMEs with market leading technologies in a wide range of industries.
 
Andrew’s role at TrainFX is to assist the board in developing strategic plans to capitalise on its technology base, ensure a high level of corporate governance and use his network of contacts to accelerate the development of the company.
