Communication to and from a moving Train has always been a challenging task, but due to global demand and advancing technology these challenges are being met, resulting in many opportunities for train operators and asset owners to provide enhanced passenger services, more cost-effective maintenance regimes and operational services and generally to exploit advancing technologies.

 

The ability to transmit data, either to or from a train, at high speed and for vast data loads, provides opportunities for enhancing passenger information and entertainment, security, media and operational application activities. As such, it is fast becoming a requirement on all technology providers to ensure their products enable transmission of data as standard and provides opportunities for providing the necessary infrastructure and support.
